Jericho is a cocky Jackalope that was born into a rich family and went to school with Donovan. They were best friends and played on the same baseball team. They had a falling out when Jericho prioritized being popular over his friendship with Don. It reached a boiling point that manifested as a physical fight during baseball practice. The rest of the team egged them on until the fight ended with Donovan breaking Jericho's arm in which they had to hold Donovan back from causing anymore damage. Jericho never played the same after his arm healed and gave up on playing baseball professionally all while blaming Donovan. He ended up not finishing college and dropped out with a group of his friends that he made during his time there.
His family disowned him upon learning he dropped out and wouldn't support him unless he finished. He refused and moved back to Oakland with his friends from college. During a night out on the town they were drinking and causing a ruckus which made the local police get involved. Jericho and his friends ended up knocking out a squad of officers before getting taken down and cuffed. While they were sitting in their holding cell the police chief told them they were free to go. This wasn't without a catch though, Jericho had to stay back and talk to a woman with scars by her left eye who claimed to work for someone very powerful. She told him that her boss was very impressed with not only his abilities in a fight but also his leadership.
Jericho, having no job and surviving on purely bravado hears out her proposition. She told him that if he can prove his loyality through a few odd jobs he'll be granted audience with the boss for proper initiation. The jobs started small, being an extra pair of eyes while people exchanged money and contraband. It slowly ramped up until the final job was upon him. Him and the woman he met with, Guinevere would have to corner and kill the requested person. This person was said to be very dangerious and more importantly, wronged the boss. Guin told him about the target as it was someone, a griffin, that used to work with her. Guinevere seemed pretty used to the idea of having to kill under the boss's orders but Jericho, depsite his attitude and air of confidence had never killed anyone before. He was given a gun and before he knew it they had located and cornered their target. The griffin didn't fight back, only yelling at Jericho. "Watch the life fade from my eyes. Don't you dare look away." Mustering everything he had, he pulled the trigger and snuffed out the life before him.
Jericho would eventually meet up with the boss, cementing his position this organization. that leads to Jericho now running a local gang in Oakland. The gang is secretly in the pocket of a multi-billionaire that uses them to intimidate others and carry out other dirty work. Jericho adopted the nickname "The Slugger of Oakland" since he uses a metal bat wrapped in a thick chain to cause damage and scare the public. He wears a baseball themed mask while running with the gang. Hearing from some of his men that Donovan is back in town he proceeds to make his return a living hell.
